Knowledge Networks for the Competitiveness and Sustainability
Of European Tourism

Summary of our project:

We will create a "strong" Cypriot Knowledge Network, which will deal with small business. It will aim towards Competitiveness and Sustainability in the section of tourism. It will involve representatives of people that have to do with "KNOWLEDGE and TECHNOLOGY", but also, through our EUROPEAN NETTING, with Research Centers and Universities on the section of Tourism. This innovating project will involve many National Networks such as the Local Authority of Tourism, NGOs, the Active Citizens, the Environment Movement etc. These National Networks are going to help us promote our PROPOSITION which will have the following sections:

1. To Promote-Support-Spot-Study of all the small or medium industries of the Troodos, Wine and Koumantaria villages, along with the seaside resort Municipality of Germosogia, which are directly or indirectly related with TOURISM.
2. To propose Innovating Propositions and Development "Tools" such as a Destination Management Organization (DMO), this will target to specific tourism groups, but will also exploit new sources of energy.
3. To make Study Visits to European areas or countries, to workshops, seminars, conferences and to produce educational material.
4. To connect these areas with a pan-European Network in order to exploit New Technologies and the publication of the results in all the "strong" areas where decisions are taken.
5. To net ALL sections of development into Thematic Networks and to connect them with others networks in the EU.
6. To publish all the results on the Internet:

• Our newsletter "THE FORUM"
• And with other European and National Information newsletters and websites.
