A SHORT PRESENTATION «OF THE POLY THEMATIC EU-MEDITERRANEAN YOUTH NETWORK»

THE CHARACTER OF PARTNERS:

We accept as partners NGOs of all kinds (and subjects), from the EU and the Mediterranean countries, who operate programs for the youth, and who would like to become members of networks of other organizations with a similar character so that straightaway they can locate PARTNERS for their programs and proposals in the EU programs, such as “Europe for Citizens”, “Youth in Action” and others. In our program all partners must be represented by decision making members.

SPECIFIC AND GENERAL TARGETS:

• To consolidate the special RIGHT of European Citizens to travel in all country members of the EU.
  1. To promote European Competitiveness, through a well structured KNOWLEDGE NETWORK in a society of knowledge.
  2. The close examination of European Identity and Conscience, through research and development programs, and traveling in the member countries.
• The interpersonal conduct and acquaintance of members (decision makers), of the various NGOs (European and Mediterranean).
• The promotion of INTERACTIVE PARTICIPATION, thus building a Europe that is more united, through a democratic and multicultural organization structure.
• THEIR CO-OPERATION in a democratic organization structure, for their future proposals.
• To support NGOs and other organizations, strengthening their possibilities for a more active involvement in putting forward proposals, on invitations for projects (Europe for Citizens, Youth in Action etc). This can be done through the exchange of knowledge and expertise, such as practices and tools for a more effective advancement of their proposals.
• To EXAMINE and develop innovating multinational exchange programs, for the purpose of creating long term co operations (standard networks) of ACTIVE CITIZENS, such as NGOs Corporations, Schools, Local Authorities, Municipalities, and others.
• Even more to disseminate these results (knowledge, expertise and tools) both in national and local level of each particular country and even more in member countries of the EU.
• To strengthen TOLERANCE, mutual understanding among European Citizens (and most of all the youth) and intra cultural dialog.
• Even more to organize multi cultural networks, and to get the general idea of netting with other similar networks and especially netting with NGOs in all Europe.
• To keep the network working after the termination of the program and to continue accepting new members.

EXPECTED RESULTS:

For NGOs:

1. To advance understanding of the conduct and the common organization basis among MUNICIPALITIES, NGOs, Local Authorities, Trade Unions etc, of the EU and Mediterranean countries, in an intra cultural dialog, based upon the European values of Democracy, Transparency, and Active Citizenship.
2. Getting over intra cultural differences and the creation of an intra cultural platform of cooperation and understanding.
3. Knowledge & Exploitation of the distinct organization structure and action of every NGO, according to each particular participating country, especially in the use of new technologies.
4. Research on the existing legal status of NGOs in each country and the implementation of European Guidelines.
5. To promote the involvement and ACTIVITY of marginal NGOs, disadvantaged persons (Persons with Disabilities, Sick people, Senior Citizens, foreign workers etc).
6. To promote COOPERATION among the carriers of Public, State Departments and NGOs, always in relation with the particular projects.
7. To promote VOLUNTARISM, DEMOCRATIC PARTICIPATION and participation of people, in each particular country in NGOs and beyond.
8. The establishment of a Local or National Network in each participating country in the EU.

For those participating personally.

1. All the above results.
2. To develop the feeling of the EUROPEAN CITIZEN and European Identity.
3. The development of MOTIVES for ACTIVE INVOLVEMENT in PUBLIC AFFAIRS.
4. Training in the area of results, dissemination and action of their organizations.

ACTIONS:

1. Organizational meetings of partners in Cyprus.
2. The promotion of a TRAINING SEMINAR for all partners and participants.
3. The preparation of an exposition, for each country, on how NGOs are functioning and their service standard.
4. Organizational meetings in some other three European Countries, WITH A TARGET to promote Regional Support Centers of the Network.
5. A Unified Exposition on the way NGOs are functioning, in the countries participating in the network.
6. Study Visits to the partner 2 + 3 + 4.
7. The Announcement of the visit.
8. Preparation of the partner for the visit and for the training.
9. Dissemination of the results in each participating country and the EU in general.
10. To find resources and support so as to keep the network running after the end of the project.
