Subject: The president of ESFC Mr Chrysis Michaelides becomes the vice president of the European Network for persons with Natural Disabilities "FIMITIC" www.fimitic.com
The "EUROPEAN SOCIAL FORUM CYPRUS (ESFC)" continues with great success its lonely course (without any support), in the EU, representing Cyprus (usually as the one and only Cypriot representative) and its members, in various European Thematic Networks and also in various European gatherings of NGOs with the aim to form a unified European policy on particular subjects.
So in September 2009, in Slovakia, the "ESFC" represented the Cyprus Disability Movement, which was organized by the Slovak Organization for Person with Disabilities, in cooperation with the Network for Persons with Natural Disabilities "FIMITIC" www.fimitic.com on the subject: "The influence of the Economical Crisis on the professional stability of persons with disabilities".
After this, the representative of "ESFC" participated in the scheduled General Meeting of "FIMITIC" www.fimitic.com where, during the elections for the new managing committee, with participants from 20 countries, our president Mr. Chrysis Michaelides was elected as Vice President.
This fact has great importance knowing that «FIMITIC» actively participates in the European Disability Forum (EDF) as a second grade member (equivalent to the member states of the EU).
The "ESFC" congratulates our president and we wish him all the best on his new assignment.
