PROFESSIONAL TRAINING AND SEARCH CENTER - Of the European Social Forum Cyprus (ESFC)
The center started its operation as early as 2003 realizing training seminars both in Cyprus and in Europe, in cooperation with the Human Resources Authority and the European program Leonardo Da Vinci.
In close cooperation with the Human Resources Authority, we realized 20 hourly seminars on Beverage Safety (HACAP) We specialized in wine production, based on European standards, like modern vine cultivation, always in relation with making good wine.
With "Leonardo Da Vinci" we realized three programs for the training of young people with disabilities, like learning Italian and training in computers. Also the practice of a group of 12 youth, for three months in Italy. This was followed by the expedition of 10 persons to Poland for training in Polish Cuisine and Pastry Making for 15 days. After this we received 15 youth from Poland in Cyprus, to learn the Cypriot Cuisine and Pastry Making.
Further more with a fourth program in Alexandroupolis Greece, we trained 12 Secondary School Teachers in dealing with children with Special Needs.
Further more we sent about 50 young people with disabilities into Disabled Persons Training Programs, for training in the use of computers.
Nowadays the Professional Training and Search Center is realizing the following propositions for training and research:
- Training of restaurant owners in the use of Food Safety Systems ISO & HACCAP.
- Training of primary and secondary school teachers in Human Rights and especially in the Right for EDUCATION for children with special needs.
- Research on the perspectives of the mountains area of Cyprus, exploiting the local agricultural production and modern forms of tourist development.
