MEDICAL CLOWNS
With this Announcement we are actually closing one year of action in our Medical Clowns program. This program, with the support of the European program: "YOUTH IN ACTION", functioned with great success.
During these twelve months that the program was on we have put into action three basic values of the EU.
- VOLUNTEERISM
- SOCIAL WORK by the youth
- INTRA CULTURAL ACTIVITY
We advanced VOLUNTEERISM by creating a lively group of young people which VOLUNTARILY sacrificed their week ends for rehearsals and visits to hospitals, institutions and schools so that they could offer a smile to children with health problems.
We incorporated SOCIAL WORK in the program of our youth. They were happy to get a smile or a "thank you" from the children, or the suffering mothers or a loving hug from the children.
We also put into action cultural programs like Clowning (in co-operation with instructors from Israel), the Face Painting technique, and the art of the Magician for the new members of our Youth.
With the formal ending of the program, our group of CLOWNS will continue it’s action, as they have promised, and will create new artistic ideas by training new children in the techniques they know, hoping to offer a smile to everybody.
This summer will be the time for programming and reorganization, ESFC and our Medical Clowns are inviting everybody with their families, both in Cyprus and everywhere in the EU.
